Mrs. United America 2008 - Kelly Burns
Kelly Burns began her journey to Mrs. United America after first winning a local preliminary, Mrs.Williamson County. She competed and was was crowned  Mrs. Texas United America at the pageant in 2008. Kelly went on to compete in the national pageant the following October. She is over joyed to complete her journey as the reigning national title holder. 

Kelly is a wife to Bruce Burns a "corporate daredevil" and mother of two beautiful and high spirited children ages seven and eleven. Kelly is the manager of Medifast Weight Control center and enjoys helping people reach their goals of a healthy lifestyle.Her main platform is the Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids. KIDS IF YOU ARE READING THIS Mrs. United America says "DON’T SMOKE!"  She has been involved in volunteering since 1999, earning a Gold Presidential Volunteer Service Award for her efforts in 2004. She successfully petitioned Governor Rick Perry to Proclaim November Lung Cancer Awareness Month in the State of Texas for two consecutive years. She has been a speaker at the Cancer Societies Relay for Life and volunteered for MDA, The Make–A-Wish Foundation, Safe Place, Blue Santa and many more. Kelly was invited to join in at the State Capitol for the press conference with Lance Armstrong for the Smoke Free Texas Campaign. Kelly was invited to the State Capitol a few months later and officially recognized for her efforts by the Texas House and Senate. Kelly plans to make as many appearances as she can and is grateful to Miss Annette, United America Director, and staff for all of their kindness and support.
